This is a great article on food sensitivities and how they can impair a child’s ability to focus. I will take this article one step further to add chemical exposure as a culprit in regards to having the ability to focus properly. If you or your child are having difficulties focusing, you may want to try the elimination diet. If you would like to learn more about a supervised elimination diet, you can always contact the office for a complimentary spinal and nutritional consultation to discuss your individual needs or that of your loved one.

Chiropractor Reading MA Alive and Well School Countdown Chemicals and Cancer

One of the greatest things you can do as a family is to decrease the chemical exposure in your household. Did you know that the average newborn has over 300 chemicals already in them? Can you imagine what our toxic overload is as an adult! The best cleaners and disinfectants are the one’s that were used back in the day: vinegar, lemon, baking soda, and my personal favorite tea tree oil. They are inexpensive and work really well. Keep your kids and yourself as chemical free as possible.

Sugar lurks in almost everything that is packaged or fast. It puts a toll on your immune system which makes you more vulnerable to invading organisms like bacteria and viruses. Chiropractor Reading MA Alive and Well School Countdown Lunch Options

Here is an article on healthy lunch suggestions. PLEASE NOTE: I am not an advocate for Gluten and Genetically Modified Organisms like soy and corn. These products should be purchased organic if consumed at all. Overall, I thought this article would help those of you to inspire some healthy creativity when packing lunches for your family.

Chiropractor Reading MA Alive and Well School Countdown on the Immune System

One of the best ways to help your kids (and yourself) boost their immune system now and into their adult years is to stress the importance of flossing their teeth daily. Our mouths are a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. Decreasing sugar consumption and flossing regularly along with brushing our teeth helps to prevent these invading organisms from entering our bloodstream at a rapid rate. Studies have also shown that good oral hygiene helps prevent future heart issues.

Chiropractor Reading MA Alive and Well School Countdown on Posture

Most people think that posture is just a vanity thing. It really lets you know how healthy you are. Your posture is like the framework of your house. It doesn’t matter how pretty you try to make it. If the framework is compromised so is the house. Your skeleton is the framework of your body. It houses your brain and spinal cord which tells everything in your body what to do. If your skeleton is not aligned properly, your body cannot function at its optimal level. A good example of this would be knee replacements. Both knees are the same age. How come one has to be replaced? Improper alignment.

Children have the capacity to heal quickly. Check your whole family’s posture by referring to the video. If you suspect spinal misalignment come on in and get your spine checked!

Chiropractor Reading MA Alive and Well Chiropractic Countdown to School Computer Ergonomics

Since many of us spend a majority of our time in front of electronic devices, it is important that you maintain a good posture. If you or your children are leaning over your computer for hours at a time each day, symptoms like headaches, fatigue, back aches, neck aches, and common colds may arise. This short video reviews proper computer ergonomics. If it is not possible for you or your kids to maintain proper ergonomics when on your electronic devices, you should make a habit of stretching your chest muscles regularly. This will help to prevent muscle imbalances and your head from leaning too far forward.
